A contract between two fighters is not a mandatory, and, I do not remember the WBC naming Wilder Fury's first mandatory.
If Fury told Wilder to piss off he'd have to pay Wilder the money he makes fighting Joshua. It's just breach of contract, not even sanctioning body jurisdiction.
Joshua would get stripped if he didn't fight Pulev though, that one is a mando.

You have a ****** guy in Wilder not in charge of his career it’s actually going to be Haymon making the call that’s why Finkle said unless were told otherwise and a strange guy in Pulev jumping in and out of AJ negotiations who I believe pulled out at least twice already as a mandatory as far back as 2016 so , the odds of this happening are slim but it’s boxing anything could happen.

Pulev is not interested in this fight. His eyes on the money he would make either way and sharing the same ring with Joshua. This will be the biggest fight of his life with all the media attention and money involve. He would just go there and go down in the third round. He needs the money without spending it on his health

Pulev has that big Eastern European head and its crying out for an AJ right uppercut ....after waking up pulev can then go back to his side job of Bulgarian bear baiting.

Wilder is cashing himself out. He’s been chin checked once and at his age it’s usually lights out the next time he gets caught.
If he was smart he would demand $20 million or more to step aside. Saudi’s would happily pay that in order to get a heavyweight unification in their country.
Then he can cash out more by getting a signed agreement to fight the winner.
But then again, a guy who turns down a $100 million when he’s never had a PPV fight at that point isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed.

I think wilder would be best to take step a side money as long as it's in contract that he gets the winner between AJ and Fury.
1 it gives Wilder more time to heal mentally and psychologically from the beat down he took.
2 he gets to train more and improve on areas that will help him fight/box that he is deficient at.
3 if Fury beats AJ he still gets the 3rd fight along with the attempt at all the belts.
4 if AJ wins, gets a chance at all the belts
5 he gets paid to have all this happen and set in his favor.
I think all this favors Wilder. If he takes the immediate rematch and loses, he might never get a chance at all the belts and it will mess him up mentally and his confidence. But we all know he'll take the 3rd immediately, wear a 40000 lb suit and not improve on any other areas in his game...
