The boy may have been gifted, surely protected for a while... but it is quite possible the drinking, partying and this his ******ity have caught up to him. I suspect we will see an easy tune up fight for him where fan boys will say... "see how easy it was for him?" and then only to get brutally stopped by anyone with a pulse and a resume... that will be his cash out fight.

They can milk the name for about 2 or 3 more fights.... 2 tune ups, and then a cash out... He needs a cash out because would be only a matter of time until he gets stopped by a B level fighter for relatively no money.

We'll only know when he takes a clean shot.

Big wait and see on spence. Will say his lifestyle hasn't changed, read what you want in to that.

Spence could be exactly the same, no difference whatsoever

          hopefully we will know soon

the layoff could be the most damaging aspect to his career

He's just not or never will be fluid enough to be a great. Porter showed us that and removed a bit of gloss from Errol in the process. I'd take Bud to beat him anyday.

Here is a list of BMX legend Mat Hoffman’s injuries:

                Broken bones: 21
                Surgeries: 23
                Concussions: 100+
                Stitches: 300+
                Comas: 2

Even with all that he climbed to the top of a vert ramp in 2002, dropped in and won an X-Games silver medal against a bunch of fresh athletes. I understand that BMXing isn’t boxing but it shows that injuries don’t necessarily spell the end. You can find ways to adapt and work around them.

Yeah - I think a reliable chauffeur would be a pretty smart investment right now.

To the original question, I have to say it is possible Spence is shot. But we've also seen plenty of fighters who take a beating and rally afterwards as well. That's what I take from boxing history, at least - pretty much anything is possible. There was a boxer from World War I, for instance, who had his jaw shattered by a bullet, and he went on to win a championship belt after.

It’s hard to say. Next fight will tell a lot. Assuming it’s against a top opponent which I would expect.
