Ike Quartey vs. Winky Wright? Dec. 2nd?

Alibi Ike Quartey May Get Winky For December 2 Date
Now we may know why Lou DiBella isn't yelling for Ike Quartey to have a rematch of his Saturday night decision loss to Vernon Forrrest. Alibi Ike, although a unanimous decision loser to the Viper at the Garden, appears to have come out a winner.

Numerous sources tell FightNightNews.com that DiBella is about lock down a December 2 date for Quartey against Winky Wright.

There is also speculation brewing about a fight in the near future between Kassim Ouma, who took DiBella prospect Sechew Powell to school, and Forrest.

Forrest preferred a title bout, but the cards aren't falling his way, as it seems Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather is tapping IBF junior middleweight champ Cory Spinks and not Carlos Baldomir, the welterweight king, for a November 4 date in Las Vegas.

Baldomir, the conquering hero from Argentina who upset Zab Judah and then Arturo Gatti, seems left off the dance card for the balance of 2006 unless he accepts smaller money to fight Bob Arum's bogeyman, Antonio Margarito.

    MICHAEL MARLEY

***Sounds like a good fight. I'd favor Winky, but I'd like this match up.

If Winky fights Quartey on Dec 2, Arum will have to put Margo against Rivera and Cotto against Baldo in order to compete. Arum and HBO should work out their differences, both are gonna lose money on this one.

i like the idea of this one matchup wise... doesn't seem like the best idea if your in Ike's camp just for the fact that his confidence might be a little shaky after the decision from last saturday, and i'm not sure facing Wright's gonna make you feel any better, he's got two good arms.

i'd be pretty interested to see how Ike does at 160, but after the controversey loss, is Wright really the correct next opponent?

        Wright UD... outboxing all day

I think Wright will beat Ike pretty easily, but it could be a good fight.

Good news...Ike deserves the shot moreso than Vernon that's for sure.

Wright takes it, but Ike could give him a spirited effort. Wright would finally see a jab as good as his.
