Can I get a little context as to these blanket terms like "spoiler" and "mover" and why these guys always seem to be the beneficiaries in hypothetical match ups?

You can't sit here and talk so much **** about Golovkin when the fight went the way it did..Comment

what does the result of that fight, have to do with Golovkin lying to his fans and avoiding MULTIPLE difficult opponents throughout his career?
that is not even dumb logic, it is no logicComment

And the Lara / Mora bullchit is just what it always was, a diversion. In fact it was basically just a narrative that originated with a coupla Haymon aligned Youtube channels but got happily seized upon by the dudes it suited. No-one had been thinking about Lara - Golovkin, and not just cos of the promotional barrier either, it was never the fight that everyone was calling for... it was just part of the wider campaign by SHO /Haymon to increase their market share by discrediting the oppositions 'product' and give HBO the final nudge they needed to send 'em out of boxing. Same reason Haymon picked up Chavez Jr and Stevenson who didn't fit in at all with his strategic plan of dominating just a few division from top to bottom. He justy wanted to deny HBO some of the biggest fights they could make for their latest 'stars'. Outperforming the opposition in business can be as much about devaluing what you're opponent has to offer as about increasing the desirability of your own product.
You gotta look at who benefitted from turning HBO from the 'Home of Champions' to the 'home of racists, frauds and hypejobs' that emerged in the middle years of last decade. That ish didn't just happen by accident.... Haymon's an excellent businessman and far better attuned to the marketing and business potentials offered by social media than conservative HBO boxing execs ever were perhaps due to his background in the far more volatile music industry.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 05-07-2020, 08:12 AM.Comment

He fought the best available opponent on many occasions and tried to a few more... all this strawman bullchit is mainly revisionism. Course there's a few holes and a few pointless filler matches but no more than with any other fighter, and less than many in similar circumstances. Only place Golovkins resume suffers really is by comparison with the true superstars of the sport with a big enough fanbase and profitability to get whoever they damn please in the ring. By regards to everyone else Golovkin's resume is actually very solid indeed. Will he go down as an ATG? Hell no, least not to my mind, but you got these dudes acting like beating more top 10 dudes than almost anyone else through the 'teens is just just 'average' and saying he won't even reach the HoF. These - the dudes like Scrappy Doo here - are the ones who have truly bought the false narrative.
