The IBF has already ordered an interim title fight between Abdukakhorov and Lipinets and it was supposed to happen in May.
I see that fight happening before Errol Spence gets back to fighting real competition. I then see the IBF losing patience before Spence is ready to defend against either one of those guys, stripping Spence and promoting the interim champion to full champion.
The IBF is notorious for stripping and I can’t see Spence fighting either one of those guys in the next two years.
If Abdukakhorov beats Lipinets, Top Rank will set up a unification between him and Crawford. If Lipinets wins, I see him winning the Manny Pacquiao lottery.
We’ll see if the WBC has more patience, but given what they did to Thurman, they probably won’t. That looks like a Porter-Garcia rematch though for that title and that isn’t as fun to talk about.
