Nelson, somebody that couldn’t be further from the Usyk team if he tried. His choice of words may be exaggerated, “battered”, “embarrassed”, but I doubt the actual story is. There’s a short clip out there of Usyk, the 6 or 7 fight cruiserweight, easily handling Klitschko.

And it’s not that he wiped the floor with him, it’s that Klitschko didn’t continue for the agreed upon rounds because the media was there. That sounds quite reasonable to me lol unified heavyweight champion that’s reigned for a decade, in preparation to defend his titles against possibly Fury (can’t actually remember who it was) being easily outclassed by a cruiserweight. That’s not a good look for a dominant heavyweight that’s training for a fight lol

I think Usyk will do fine at heavyweight. People saying Chisora will beat him, but I doubt it. He’ll have some success in the early rounds, like a lot do against Usyk, but soon enough the high volume of accurate punches will start busting up Chisora's face.
Someone getting the better of someone else in sparring doesn't mean much, there is far too many variables, why would Wlad have been sparring Usyk in preparation for Fury anyway they are polar opposite styles

It means more than nothing. Granted, it’s not an all out fight, but it’s not like Klitschko is going to let somebody get the better of him, sparring or not. No top level competitor would. And I don’t know why he sparred Usyk in the lead up to Fury, ask Klitschko lol

When you add that to the fact he comfortably took Joe Joyce’s power in the WSB and comfortably took Gassiev’s power–a man known for sparring and knocking out heavyweights–it all points to Usyk being more than capable of hanging with the big boys, seeing as power and size is what people say will hamper his progress.

I just don't know why he wasted years in anonymity at Cruiserweight when he easily beats any heavyweight and could have been undisputed heavyweight champion for the last 5 years

        Makes no sense to me

Anonymity at cruiserweight? Wilder has demonstrated that being a heavyweight champion doesn’t give you automatic popularity lol

With the current champions, I wouldn’t edge my bets on Usyk winning a title. I’m not sure if it was this thread I said it in, but Fury is too big, too awkward and too talented, and AJ is just too strong. The others, however, he would give more than a good account of himself. Ortiz, Parker, Whyte, Pulev, Ruiz, Wilder, Hunter (again), Rivas. People thinking Chisora will run through him are gonna be left saying, “yea but Chisora is a bag of píss anyway, no wonder Usyk spanked him”.

Usyk is the heavyweight Olympic gold medalist who became undisputed at cruiserweight not some random fat guy who accomplished nothing try again

HW at the olympics is a different weight category genius. Super heavyweight is equivalent to professional HW category

We all saw Usyk against Witherspoon (who *literally* had 4 days notice!) and thought "This guy is nothing special"

If a novice Joe Joyce (the slowest guy in the divison) can hit him that many times, I wouldn't get too excited if I were you....

He might beat everyone or he might not beat anyone.
That's why we want to see what he's made of
