Looked like an Akhmedov win to me and as I recall either that or the Draw was that was pretty much the consensus. No one seemed to think Barrios deserved the nod.

Staples Center, Los Angeles, California - In a battle of undefeated boxers for the vacant WBA "regular" junior welterweight title, Mario Barrios (25-0, 16 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Batyr Akhmedov (7-1, 6 KOs). The scores were 114-112, 115-111 and 116-111.
Least the WBA did the right thing in ordering the rematch though, I guess.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 04-25-2020, 06:51 PM.Comment

Akhmedov was robbed IMO. I had him winning clearly even with the KD’s. Think I had it 115-111 or 114-112. Those scorecards were atrocious. There’s no way Barrios won more than 4 rounds.Comment

The biggest problem with boxing scoring is where a guy can beat another guy, battering him from pillar to post and only receive a ridiculous 10-9 when it should be a 10-8. And then a guy gets 10-8 for a flash knockdown when it is obvious that one guy was not hurt and the other guy took a beating. Barrios was soundly beaten and received a gift that night.Comment

No robbery, but perhaps it could've gone the other way on another day. Both very good fighters. Barrios won 4 rounds and scored 2 KDs,Comment

Fight was razor close not the robbery people made it out to be but the fight itself was fantasticComment
