Comments Thread For: Malignaggi: Wilder Got Gift in First Bout, Took Beating in Rematch

Former two division champion Paulie Malignaggi believes there are too many 'yes men' in the camp of former heavyweight titleholder Deontay Wilder. In February, Wilder was dropped twice and stopped in seven by Tyson Fury, who walked away with the WBC heavyweight crown in Las Vegas.

Paulie is 100% correct and spot on with his assessment, as usual.

Feather fist isnt always right about things but he couldn't be more right about this. Wilder fans hate the truth as Wilder does. Truth hurts way more than a lie

Nothing about all of the dirty tactics Fury got away with.

This is so incorrect. Wilder has already clarified, he was not there in the second fight, so there no question arises of him taking a beating.

I like Paulie and usually feel he gets it right...but he does seem to side, in excess sometimes, with the more feather fisted puncher...and I think that can affect his cards sometimes...when you get dropped twice, it is hard to say you got robbed...even when you dominate about half the fight as Fury did...but as one could imagine, when you get dropped twice, you are probably fighting tense in there in a lot of rounds and they are at least close...as you know you are just a fraction away from getting dropped.

Fury did put it on Wilder in fight 2 though...one of the greatest performances I have ever seen live.

I disagree with the first fight, I felt Wilder did enough to win it and should’ve got the knockout call when 95% of world refs would’ve waived it off going by the rules!

Second fight I predicted exactly how Fury is going to put on weight that’s good for him and attempt to bully Wilder by walking him down using sharp 1-2’s and occupying the big right in range using hard 2-1’s or working the torso to get a 10th round stoppage!

You can look up my past threads I called it down the middle!

Paulie’s a little butt hurt Wilder almost got him kicked off Showtime when honestly Showtime hasn’t had many compelling matches period and he’s basically a conflict of interest since he also does commentating for Matchroom Sky!

Make that of you will, Wilder is a former champion and has a chance to redeem himself like anyone but can he is the question and for most it’s not likely or near impossible and for me I think he’ll make the adjustments needed to pull out the victory!

When Wilder came round the Day after fight, Wilders cling ons still told him that he won...

You can be however good but you're jack without a good team around you..

The excuses are embarrassing and I would like to think at some point either in the near future or long after retirement he could put his bashed up ego to one side and hold his hands up and tell everyone what they saw.. he had his arse handed to him.

However with the cling ons he pays to stroke his ego, my guess is after fight 3 he caught a bout of Saturday night fever....
