Why I dont like the Mayweather vs Spinks fight

I respect Floyd's skill and talent.

I would much rather see Floyd dominate weight classes rather than just move up getting a belt here and there.
this is what separates him from a guy like B.Hop.

I would have preferred him to fight Baldomier, get the undisputed belt, and then defeat Margo (so I'll never hear his name again), then set himself up to be able to force Cotto and hatton and Mosley and Forrest and whoever else to fight him. I think he chasing history, making him a 5 time champ in 5 different weight classes (the fastest to ever do that), and also bating Delahoya to fight him in Feb. or May so he get that legenadry status and legendary $$$.

Totally agree. Floyd's skills haven't diminished but as a fan this is not what I wanted to see. It doesn't seem to make much sense in terms of $ or legacy (other than being able to claim trinkets in 3 of 5 weight divisions).

PBf is just positioning himself for some great big money fights, plus I always wanted him to fight Spinks at 154 to see if he can hang at three weight classes like he says he can. He could fight DLH, ease on down to 147 & fight Mosley, then Margarito or Baldomir for a hell of alot more money.

Yes and no. Baldomir will be gone (retired) by the time Floyd moves back to 147. As of now I see Floyd staying at 154 for his fights in November and February so that he can fight DLH in May. Baldomir has said he only wants 1-2 more fights before retirement. Plus if he fights Margarito I think Margarito forces him into retirement by beating him.

I dont think he'll fight Margo though, he prolly looking for like 3-4 M for his next fight, and I dont think Margo can generate that kind of guaranteed $$$, also I dont think Margo can beat him, let alone into retirement.

Probably, but even without Baldi, there's alot of opposition out there at WW, I'm just saying once he fights DLH or Mosley he could do as he claims and fight whoever's the WW king, **** maybe even go down to 140 if he wants, I'm not sure he could but it would be impressive.

Also if he stays at 154 in Feb. as well, who will he fight Rivera?

I think it would have made more sense to make his next two fights at 140 and 147 as there are fights to be fought there. The only way this makes ANY sense is if he uses it as a tuneup at 154 for Oscar but that means he'd be inactive until May since Shane is back at 147. He should be fighting the biggest fights out there. Not all of that is his fault as there are guys like Hatton and Cotto that are avoiding him for now and Shane and Oscar need time off but Margarito is sitting there and its a big money fight that should be easily winnable. At least it will be funny to hear Larry Merchant after Spinks 11 minute ring walk
