Comments Thread For: Arum: Would Be Very Hard To Do Loma-Lopez Fight Without Spectators

Bob Arum counts Vasiliy Lomachenko-Teofimo Lopez among the high-profile fights his promotional company won't be able to put on if fans aren't allowed to attend. Arum's Top Rank Inc. figures to make a significant amount of money from tickets sales to the card headlined by Lomachenko-Lopez. Removing that revenue stream from that equation would make it more difficult to pay Lomachenko and Lopez their desired purses for that lightweight title unification fight.

To be perfectly honest, no big sports event, whether in boxing, mma, football, and even tennis would be the same without a good crowd. Spectators are essential, adding to the atmosphere, and you can see and feel the difference. Recently, the sports entertainment company wwe did wrestlemania, and if anyone is honest it was just horrible with no spectators. Even though the wwe is staged and choreographed, that was bad. We have to get back to life, maybe gradually they can use some measures, but life goes on. The infection rate is not going to be the horror story the mainstream media feed us.

Host could bring pigs to squeek around the WWE ring for atmosphere: it's legal and practically the same!

That's silly...Loma Corola had more in attendance then Wider Ortiz and those are heavyweights. Hell, nobody even knew Corolla and still he sold more then Spence/Algieri and Danny/Granados.
