I would wait for the april numbers to make a better comparison.
March had around 3800 Corona-related deaths and didnt even have more than 100 daily deaths until March 17th. It was still in the beginning of the outbreak.
While 3800 sounds like a big number, it's not big enough to really make a big difference in terms of number of deaths.
Looking at April:
From april first until april the 21th, there have been supposedly 38000 corona-related deaths. That's 10 times the number of march.
Logically, the number of deaths in april should be a lot higher than last year. If it is not, then the risk of the Corona virus is overstated and a lot of deaths might have been wrongly counted towards the coronavirus numbers.
If the numbers are significantly higher than last year, the lockdown measures were necessary imo because those numbers would have been even higher if we had just done nothing.
