Comments Thread For: WBA Prez Hoping To Stage Cards To Help Rising Prospects Earn a Living

Although it will depend on how the situation with the coronavirus pandemic continues to play out in the coming weeks, the president of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Gilberto Jess Mendoza, is working hard to ensure that some boxing can return in May.

This FÛÇKING Corona Virus is playing us all. This is a FÛÇKING mess.

If it safe and there are not health risk, then I support this plan all in. Like Gilberto Mendoza said, boxers in the lower ranks need help, because is their only income and the help of fighting, increase the ranks and profile, help them further.

They're super fit athletes in the prime of their lives. You really think they'll be getting that sick from a disease with a newly reported 0.06% mortality rate? I'd settle down. This was a manufactured crisis. We were total ****ing idiots panicking like I said this was since the beginning.

I agree, but is a boxer or someone of the team healthy catch a virus, while not knowing, there is a risk to infect another person who is vulnerable for reasons of age and health and then die. I am more preoccupied for the vulnerable ones, especially the elderly.

I feel sorry for the poor bum who is known among boxing fans but are not a household name or have crossover superstar appeal among the casual fan.

This pandemic is taken its toll and is really hitting them the hardest. If they can't fight/work then how are they are going to eat or feed their families?

No one should be around them in the first place so why should that be a concern?

Because there are people who is infected and still don't know they are carriers and can infect a vulnerable one without knowing. Today in my country died a 29 years old who look healthy. He tried to get tested two times and they negate him the test. He felt weak and lose the smell sense. When he go a third time, he tested positive and they had order him to stay in the house. Various days, he died in his house. Now they are searching the last peoples who was near him for testing. Maybe I am a carrier and I don't know, but I take precautions to stay far of the vulnerable ones of my family for prevention.

Since most people who've had it are unaware they did, as I said, it's just common sense not to near the elderly or immunocompromised if you're sick or not. That's what social distancing was for. If you haven't paid attention to that from the beginning and think you're okay as long as you don't have symptoms, you haven't been paying attention and those people will likely suffer anyway.
Cancelling events for a fear of accidentally spreading it in a time when we should've been taking those measures already not to spread it is not the right measure to take at all.

I know about social distancing, the health guide lines very well and know how to proceed. I believe my explanation answers the questions. What I don't understand is why you are saying something I know in the first place.
