Before Errol Spence Jr.'s career-altering car accident October 10, it seemed as if a fight against Danny Garcia would be next for the unbeaten IBF/WBC welterweight champion. Spence and Garcia might've met January 25 in a FOX Sports Pay-Per-View main event had Spence not suffered serious injuries in that one-car crash six months ago in Dallas. Now that the COVID-19 pandemic has indefinitely delayed all boxing matches, Spence suspects he'll return to the ring in September or October, not July or August, as he had previously planned.

It's not the fight we want but after the accident and Covid delays I said I'd give Spence a pass if he took on a soft touch for his comeback fight. I dont class Danny Garcia as a soft touch. By rights it should be a comfortable enough win for Spence but Danny is good enough to sniff out any ring rust and catch Spence with something.

We all want the big one, the Bud Crawford fight but it's only fair to let Spence blow off the cobwebs 1st and if Garcia is his return opponent it's a decent level to be steeping back in to.

would be a smart move by spence....to potentially help continually build him as the a-side for a crawford fight...nice ppv numbers there would do just that again....

It's a good fight for Spence and people will watch it, but it's not the Spence fight that they want to see.

come on.....nobody cares about this fight. When was the last time Garcia beat a top Welterweight? It's a showcase fight for Spence. I wouldn't pay to watch it. I wouldn't stay home on a Saturday night to watch it. I'd watch it the next day to see Garcia get his ass handed to him

...why??? We've paid to see Spence-Porter. I think Danny counter style matches up much better than poter's vs Spence. Besides, name a welterweight other than Pacquiao with a better resume than Danny? Danny vs either Pacquiao or Spence is must watch. Of course, it's not the Crawford fight we all want, but this is deft a good consolation fight.
