Yes, Laila Ali is a lot older than Shields but she's only a few years older than Braekhus. It's not the age gap so much as the gap since her last fight that's the problem here, and why the fight shouldn't get made.

True, he left a year or so before, but the decline began before he officially left. Not really blaming him though. I'm no insider and I assume many forces were at play. Boxing just didn't fit into HBO's bigger picture and, ostensibly, wasn't the major driver of subscriptions that us boxing fans liked to believe.Comment
