He's 21. His career hasn't even began. Canelo lost to Floyd at 23 and was fine.
Is Haney’s career over?

Haney will be fine. All he had to do is make himself the mandatory challenger for a belt. History tells us guys like Loma will give him the belt rather than make a mandatory defense.
Haney could set the record for making the most champions ask for the emeritus/franchise designation rather than fight him.
He’s only 21 and already made Loma do this just by becoming the mando. If a great talent like Loma does this, who knows how lesser skilled men like Taylor will behave.Comment

Career won't be over. Somebody ask him if he'll ever lose to a black boy? Asian Boy? Native American Boy?
Me thinks he'll give the same answer. That comment, as dumb as it was, was directed to who he was questioned about.
He better make it true, 'cause he'll never hear the end of it. It will probably help sell his fights though, sadly.Comment

Serious question - do you really think Loma had something to do with that?Haney will be fine. All he had to do is make himself the mandatory challenger for a belt. History tells us guys like Loma will give him the belt rather than make a mandatory defense.

He seems like he has more or less been open to fighting anyone, as long as they have a belt...that has been my understanding anyway.
He also already has a loss so I can't really see him being overly protective of losing...and with him due to face Lopez, who if anything has a better chance of KOing him, I just don't really see the angle of him avoiding Haney.
Interesting though that the whole emeritus thing happened there..it was unexpected and strange.Comment
