honestly think this could be a future movie/book for him
Let's all be real, Wilder was a protected figher. His resume is one of the worst of any title holder in HW boxing history, he fought straight bums. The only elite fighter he has ever faced, he has lost too...arguably twice
Don't bring up 50 year old high blood pressure Ortiz as an "elite win"
and lets be real, he turned down a huge offer from Joshua/Eddie to cherry pick Fury, yes it was a cherry pick
Wilder thought having the "linear" championship recognition would strengthen him in negotiations with Joshua and Eddie. Fury was coming from 6 months inactive, drug abuse, mental illness, 400 lbs and had 2 nothing fights that he looked bad in. Wilder thought it was going to be an easy win. Frank Warren had to convince Shelly Finkel that Fury was done and was coming back for one more final pay day. Fury's own father said he was going to get knocked out and shouldn't take the fight right away.
But what happened, he couldn't beat a 50 percent Fury. He got beat, and had to rob Fury of his win. He couldn't decline the rematch even if he wanted to, and then he finally lost (properly) to a 100 percent Kronk Fury.
this cherry pick will haunt him for the rest of his life.
