Comments Thread For: Loma: Gervonta Davis Might Want To Fight Me, But Promoters Won't Let Him

Vasiliy Lomachenko isn't sure whether Gervonta Davis actually wants to fight him. The prideful fighter within Davis just might want that type of challenge, according to Lomachenko. He doesn't think Davis' handlers want Davis to test himself against an elite-level three-division champion who is commonly considered one of the top three boxers, pound-for-pound, in the sport.

Now I’m a Davis fan but Loma

I would fight once he slows down a tad bit! Davis is aggressive but you need track shoes on when fighting Loma, he knows his way around the ring and he will not engage like in his first loss; especially with Gervonta. Davis will be as great as his conditioning and dedication allows. Exceptional talent

Somehow this reminds me of Golovkin vs Canelo saga. I think we got that fight couple of years too late, but Canelo is still improving... Would be a pity if Gervonta's management waits for Loma to slow down, but on the other hand, who can blame them. Davis is making good money already, so he can afford to wait, as opposed to Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney who want their big payday now.

If Loma actually said what the headline says he said, he's totally WRONG. Floyd wanted to make the fight happen, but Hervonta wanted no parts of it and even threatened to leave Mayweather Promotions over it.

It's worse than GGG-Canelo. Loma's style is built on reflexes and speed. GGG can just come forward and jab and overwhelm fighters. Loma doesn't have that many prime years left. Gervonta ducked the fight even when Floyd tried to push the fight through.

I get what you're sayi g here but davis' "dedication" doesn't inspire much confidence. After continually struggling to make 130, he moved up 5lbs and STILL struggled, indicating a distinct lack of discipline imo.

Lol. Floyd wanted to make Davis fight Lomachenko but Davis cried so hard at the thought of Lomachenko that Floyd relented and let him comeback with his good graces.
