  • Comments Thread For: Arum: No Chance Deontay Wilder Will Take a Step-Aside Fee

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who along with Frank Warren promotes WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, says there is zero chance that Deontay Wilder will take a step-aside fee. Wilder, who Fury stopped in seven rounds in their February rematch, has exercised an immediate rematch clause to force a trilogy fight.

Really???? A guy isn’t going to walk a way from guaranteed millions. Who would have guessed?

Wilder has to take a rematch, because he has no other chance. That is what he is expected to do from his management. And what else could he do, fight Martin next for much smaller money and risk that Martin beats him?

There's no chance of him stepping aside.. He's too addicted to humiliation

Now he knows he's not invincible and got outboxed and battered by a fat bloke twice he's mentally crushed. He's going to try redeem some pride but even if he wins the trilogy he will be mentally damaged and we will see multiple loses from now on..

One trick ponies never go undefeated or turn into greats....

Really??? 3-4 million in step aside money & a guarantee to face the winner for a full unification bout. It would be crazy not to.

It is pretty clear by now to all. Or at least it should be, that wilder is not in this game just for money.

I've said before that's the reason I'd personally do it..

Isn't it something like 20 odd years since last undisputed heavyweight champion which was Lennox Lewis, unless I've missed someone?

Then it is written. Wilder was a one-trick pony that was used as a punching bag by this generations top fighters.
