McWilliams Arroyo gets more chances than anyone

With some boxers, it seems like there is a collective effort to get them a title.

Arroyo is the WBC mandatory at flyweight.

The man is 20-4 and has only won three straight since his last lost. He’s also already received two title shots. Now he’ll get a third title shot.

I find this to be absolutely insane but what do I know.

Tbf man, a lot of people thought he beat Amnat, he has that win over Cuadras and Buitrago was at least a credible fighter at 105-8. His only other recent losses are against legends such as Chocolatito and Ioka.

I don’t think he should have been made mandatory but he’s not the worst choice. They should have ordered Arroyo and Rodriguez Jr in a final eliminator.

I believe martin murray still holds the record for most unsucessful title fights. Groves was also a candidate but he was finally able to win a title.

I just checked, he had title shots vs:
          W. Klitschko, Byrd and Valuev.
and an interim title fight vs Samuel Peter.

Murray had title shots vs Sturm, Martinez, Golovkin and Abraham.

What about Rocky Juarez....I know I can check, I just cant be bothered...I think he had more than 4 shots...I think a long time ago, Marcos Villasana won his title on the fourth or fifth.

You're right, he failed to win a title 5 times, 6 if you count an interim WBC title he failed to get as well. Once he drew and he failed to capture a title twice to both Barrera and Chris John.
Villasana got his title in his fifth crack.

Yeah they should've, but I'm not gonna complain when they put two big punchers together in Arroyo and Martinez. Seems Rodriguez Jr. Has also locked himself into super fly from now on as well, even won a WBC rankings belt at 115.

Also, yes, Martin Murray had a good performance against Sergio, then parlayed that into the others without ever really beating anyone of note.

Martinez vs Arroyo sounds like a good fight man
