Comments Thread For: Helenius: I Don't Know Why Kownacki Would Want Rematch After What I Did To Him

Robert Helenius isn't contractually obligated to give Adam Kownacki a rematch. Frankly, the veteran heavyweight doesn't think Kownacki even really wants a second shot at him. Finland's Helenius dropped the significantly favored Kownacki twice and stopped the popular Polish contender in the fourth round of a fight FOX televised March 7 from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Sure he knocked dude out but it wasn’t like he dominated the fight.

True, but ask yourself - if Kownacki changes nothing, can he get a better result?

And if he can't get a better result doing the same thing, can he change his game?

While Helenius did not dominate the fight, it didn't feel like a lucky punch either. To me it looked like Helenius whethered the storm and picked his moment. And if that's true, he can do it even quicker second time around - assuming Kownacki does not change.

I never was too high on Adam, but then I just don’t like this heavyweight trend of being fat and overweight and hoping no one will expose you for it. Both he and Ruiz need to get serious about their diets and roadwork. And I get it, they are not meant to be Mike Weaver types....save it. But they can do better. And that goes for a dillian “JaFAKEn” whyte lately too.

Your absolutely correct with this post. Kownacki tried but couldn't better Helenius and I cant see he do it later on in life

No need for a rematch, there are enough other fights for both.

they are both nowhere near top ten level.

You make a fair point but my issue is how would Helenius know what’s in Kownacki’s mind. Kownacki put up a good fight why wouldn’t he want to do it again?

Honesly, if a journeyman stops you in fourth, you don`t deserve a rematch.
