Haymon has a contract with the networks and he is running out of fighters that can draw. At 147 neither Danny or Shaun (on their own) can draw enough to justify the numbers.

In the end, if Spence gets beat the PBC is in deep trouble. Keep in Mind, Al Haymon never cultivated a fighter, he has no farm team. All of the fighters at the PBC were actually made and elevated by other promoters. Al simply stole them after they became known with the promise of more money and the ability to keep the promoter fees. In essence they are all self promoted and that's the flaw. By in large, none of the PBC fighters make offers because they don't have the cash or the know how. Frankly, Mikey Garcia, Floyd and Manny were the only guys that could do both and all are no longer fighting on PBC cards. Al Haymon simply can't deliver the product to the networks or the money if he keeps losing his biggest pre-made personalities.
Making matters worse, Al can't move the few prospects he has fast enough because he's not a promoter, he's a manager, a manager that has burned a lot of promoters.

The business model is flawed, it only works if Haymon can maintain his near complete control of the market but the market has changed. Counting on PPV's in an age of steaming was the first mistake. Counting on his biggest Heavyweight to KO some out of shape name was mistake #2. Spence's car accident was 3rd strike and in my opinion the start of the PBC's unraveling.
Everything you said is true. Also the only person who's benefitted from the PBC system is Haymon. His fighters lose millions of dollars because he somehow convinces them to not even humor offers from ESPN or DAZN and he's failed to turn any of them into a real ppv draw. The low level of competition he puts his champions up against also makes them extremely vulnerable when they fight someone decent like Tony Harrison or Julian Williams

Any non casual saw the competition Porter would give Spence. But that was no heart test. A heart test is when a guy is on the level but has the power, inflicting not just pain, but injury. Porter can barely hurt anyone.

What I’m really curious about with Spence vs Crawford is if Crawford gets hurt, will he walk through the fire. Before the accident with Spence, he just seemed very determined. That fight with Porter, he walked through the fire. Porter was all over him, throwing and connecting on some hellacious shots. And Spence ate all of them and kept coming forward. This fight is very intriguing. Crawford can crack and box and has so many great skills. Spence is a volume puncher that stays busy throughout each round and tries to wear his opponents down. He throws a lot of body shots too. We have NEVER seen Spence seriously hurt yet so I’m curious what happens when he gets caught flush by Bud. But Bud has been dropped before twice, last fight, and Gamboa.

Good post. Dude throws flurries and arm punches. Extremely busy while doing little damage to his opponents without head butting. If he couldnt hurt Brook, Julio Diaz in two fights, or Granados no one in their right mind should think he could hurt Spence or even Crawford.

Why would Crawford sign an extension with Bob Arum after Oscar left, Floyd left, Cotto left, and Mikey left (and eventually Pacquiao too)? Does he know something they don't? They are all way more successful than he is! I like Bud, but he's definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer!
Fury is with Top Rank. Manny was with top rank.

spence has already been proven to be the harder puncher .. if they both go toe to toe, i think spence has the edge.

Errol can box but he cannot outbox Bud. And we all know Errol can punch, but he can't out think Bud. And Bud will surprise him with his punching power, and with his strength. Errol thinks like a bull. He thinks Bud is too small. He kniws he can't outbox him, so he'll try to be the bull. It won't work. In fact, Bud will be the 1st one to visibly hurt Errol. Not saying he'll stop him. But he'll hurt him, and everyone watching will know Errol is hurt.

Errol has power, but how does he handle adversity? Your going to need a lot more than brute force to beat the P4P, BEST IN THE WORLD Terence 'Bud' Crawford.
Couldn't agree more. Bud handles adversity much better than Spence and Bud is simply more talented and skilled than Spence. I'm not taking anything away from Errol, he's a great fighter but Bud operates at a higher level.
