  • Comments Thread For: Wilder Taking Step-Aside Money Would Be Embarrassing, Hearn Says

Deontay Wilder immediately exercised his rematch clause to fight Tyson Fury nearly a week after losing his WBC heavyweight title in a one-sided drubbing to the hands of his archrival. The trilogy between Fury and Wilder was originally set to take place July 18, and now after the coronavirus pandemic, it is penciled for Oct. 3.

Wow, the complete opposite thing that a promoter would say if he WANTED the fighter to take the step aside money.

You know what would be more embarrassing? Getting destroyed again in the same exact fashion because you haven’t given yourself enough time to change a single thing.

Shame or not though, it depends on the step-aside money. They could offer enough. $20 million would probably do it.

If I were Wilder I'd take 20 - 25 million and stand down. Work on things I need to work on. Time well invested is always priceless and pays the most dividends.

If he comes back and takes down Fury and Joshua, history would say he was a genius.

I see what hearn is doing,he is goading deontay into taking the fight anyways because he knows if fury beats or better demolishes him again fury has no qualms taking the joshua fight and they have one less heavyweight to worry about

That's kinda what I was thinking. It leads me to believe Wilder may have already told him to F☆CK OFF

What's embarrassing about taking a step aside money if the contract guarantees you a shot at the winner.

Methinks Hearn is talking outta his mouth.

LMAO. Who's going to pay that bum that type of money? He'll eventually pull out.
