just my speculation but im sure the behind the scenes politics has to do with that. they can't control the wbo like they can with other belts, enforcing mandatories, moving guys they want up the rankings, etc...

WBO tends to rank and mando in a way that makes fighters feel like it's not worth it. They've done that for years.

Just look at welter. Manny has lost that damn thing THREE times - Bradley, Mayweather and Horn.

Multiple fighters vacating and/or being stripped because they don't fight their mandatory for a low payday and instead fight someone who is going to make them big money.

Second, the WBO has a policy that you can't hold titles in multiple weight classes (which is ******). Meaning that you can never really contest for a higher or lower weight title while holding in your current weight class.

I think that second one is the real dealbreaker. Unless you're at HW (most fighters won't go down to CW), it's just not worth it.

Crawford needs to suit up and fight Porter. Everything is perfect for this fight now (well after Corona-stoppages). If he does that, he'll get everyone else he thinks he wants on the PBC side, especially if he wins, but even if he loses.
