I don’t have any problem with that. You can make the argument that Chavez had a better career (way more fights) but skill wise JMM is the greater fighter. To be honest I think he’s been robbed/screwed over a ton in his career and his only real loss was Mayweather. I had him beating Norwood, Pacquiao 3x and the first fight a draw, Chris John (one of the worst robberies ever) and Bradley. So when you look at it that way I only had him losing to Mayweather who a lot of people think is the best ever. So to me he’s definitely the best Mexican fighter ever, even though others were bigger/more popular like Chavez.

It's a tough call with a lot of these guys, but I'm going with Juanma , i think he had the best performances against the best opposition for the longest period of time. Plus he's never been stopped.

          Juanma Marquez
          Canelo
          JC Chavez
          Ricardo Lopez
          Salvador Sanchez
          Marco Barrera
          Erik Morales
          Pipino Cuevas
          Antonio Margarito
          Ray Arce
No offense but that is a terrible list.

It's hard to really rank fighters. But here's 10 or so Messicans you're free to slot as you wish:

          Sal Sanchez
Jose Napoles (a Black Cuban adopted by Mexico, so maybe he doesn't count? )
          Vincente Saldivar
          Miguel Canto
          Carlos Zarate
          Manuel Ortiz
          Canelo Alvarez
          Ruben Olivares
          JC Chavez
          Baby Arizmendi
          JM Marquez
          Ruiz
          Oscar De La Hoya

I'm dead serious about Ruiz, too. For a "real" Mexican to be Heavyweight champ is amazing. Most those dudes fought at Featherweight or below. Sanchez and Alvarez were White. Napoles was Black. But Fluffy is a REAL Mexican.

Skill-wise Harold Johnson was better than Moore and Pastrano...

Salvador Sanches has Wilfredo Gomez and Azumah Nelson KO victories that he achieved with his skills. Plus he has Lopez, Catillo and Laporte in his resume and all of this by the age of 23.

Marquez could not beat Bradley and got dominated by Floyd.

                - -BALCO Juan used to drink his warm frothy pee in training camps.

No love in Mexico for him, and no manny KDed him 5x in the first two fights, so he shoulda been TKOed as a disgrace. Judge admitted he made the mistake that cost manny the win.

He further disgraced his intelligence to duck the arum $900k immediate rematch to spend $ to fly over to indonesia for $25k where he couldn't keep his gloves above Johns waistline. Shoulda been DQed.

U ever have one of his warm pee spritzers with him?

I have no issue with that.. sometimes, I rate Marquez as the number one mexican fighter of all time.. not just because he is my favorite fighter but just a personal opinion.

H2H I can see him beating every great Mexican legends under 140..
