Did Joshua use the wrong tactics in the ruiz rematch?

They put the fight in a massive 22 foot ring and Joshua took advantage of every inch of it to stay away from Ruiz. He looked terrified to exchange and ran away whenever things started to get hot.

I wouldn't say that those were the wrong tactics. But he definitely came across as being scared to fight his typical fight.
