Devin Haney fully intends to hit the ground running the moment boxing resumes. The unbeaten lightweight has been chomping at the bit to bring every dream matchup to fruition. The division is ripe with talent, beginning with titlists Vasiliy Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez and onto rising stars such as Gervonta Davis (also a secondary titlist) and Ryan Garcia, down to mid-level contenders such as Luke Campbell and Javier Fortuna.

You’re off to a great start champ. Winning that vacant title vs nobody. Definitely the makings of a legendary fighter.

Fighting the guys the fans want to see. That’s the sort of thing I like to hear. It’s the sort of thing I like to see even more. Stay true to your word.

I know it’s very early into 2020, but does anyone really foresee Haney vs Nobody for the WBC Lightweight championship lose out on Fight of the Year? That has to go down as one of the most memorable first title fights of any fighter in the history of boxing.

Lomachenko dropped the belt, so it’s only fair that instead of the two highest rated top 10 Lightweights fighting for the WBC title, that Haney is gifted the title and bypass any challenging opponent for it. What’s better than getting a belt without even getting in the ring? That’s the type if stuff ATG’s do.
