Comments Thread For: Jermell Charlo On Tony Harrison Trilogy: F--k No!

Jermell Charlo believes two fights with Tony Harrison was enough to prove the point he believed he made the first time around. The two-time and reigning 154-pound titlist has long envisioned cleaning out the junior middleweight division. With that came the understanding that a rematch with Detroit's Harrison was absolutely necessary, if only to right what he felt was a horrible wrong that came from their first fight. Harrison (28-3, 21KOs) claimed a disputed 12-round decision win, and with it Charlo's unbeaten record and 154-pound title in their December 2018 meeting.

If it weren't for Harrison's chin and stamina, he'd be top 3 at super. I can't blame Charlo for not wanting a trilogy.

Can't lie, Harrison was giving him work until that stoppage.

Harrison fought disappointingly. Fought completely different from the first fight. Fought the second fight as if he believed he was the bully, and as if believed he was stronger.

He clearly fell victim to his own trash talking and started to believe it. How the hell u win the first fight by moving swiftly and boxing magnificently. Then the second fight u turn into Frankinstein trying to slowly walk down and bully your opponent who's clearly stronger than u ?

Exactly. Harrison skill-wise and athleticism wise is soooooooo good. But that damn chin and stamina man. I’m happy he was able to squeak by and win a title. Would have been a huge shame for a guy with that much talent to go his whole career without being a champ.

No he wasn't, it was all a facade. He was getting pummeled. U can't walk down and bully a fighter who's stronger than u, it just doesn't work.

He was getting blasting with huge shots until he couldn't take any more and folded. Walking the stronger guy down like a Zombie doesn't work when ur the weaker fighter, and it's exactly opposite of how he won the first flight.

Who does a complete 180 from a winning strategy that was proven ?
