    Rivera vs Margarito, who'd win?

Rivera has been calling out Margarito, and at a cheaper price, only asking for 1 mill. Although I doubt Margarito will take this fight because it makes sense, it would be very cool if it happened. Who would you pick? Margarito would have to move up to 154lbs though he should do it comfortably as he is a huge welterweight. I think this would be a slugest. 50/50

At 154 I think its a close fight. I favor Margarito with his two main advantages: power and punch volume. Rivera can be a crafty boxer at times, but he an also be baited into a brawl. If Rivera can stay disciplined and box for 12 rounds he could win... otherwise Margarito by KO/TKO

At 154 Rivera packs a hard punch, did you see how he dropped Terra with a jab? On the same token he got clipped and dropped by Terra so it should make a helluva fight.

Oh yeah Rivera can punch no doubt. I just think Margarito has a good chin, a better chin than Garcia.

I go with Rivera And if u watch thereplay u will see that Jose got hit by Garcia when he was backing away, it was like he thought the punching stopped and he relaxed for a second... and realize this, he got hit flush on the chin by a totally unexpected punch but he got up instantly and was not hurt. He definitely takes a good shot.

Yeah I think Rivera's boxing skills plus the fact that he packs a punch could see him win this. On the other hand, Margarito is no slouch with boxing skills either and definitely can brawl. I guess it would come to who can take the other man's shot best. Though they seem so similar in many ways that I'd love to see this fight happen.

I was very impressed with Riveras win over Garcia and think he would beat Margarito too..........Albeit in a very good contest. It is a pick em fight though.

Here's the open letter to refresh some people's minds who haven't read it yet. Rivera's challenge to Margarito...

Open Letter from Jose Antonio Rivera to Antonio Margarito & Bob Arum

                  Dear Antonio & Bob,

How can you be the most feared fighter in the world? I’ve made it well known several times that I’ll fight you for my WBA Super Welterweight Title. Just name the time and place, as long as the deal is right.

Hey, amigo, I must be the most feared Super Welterweight in the world because none of the top 154-pounders like Oscar De La Hoya, Cory Spinks and Shane Mosley want a piece of me.

Lace them up and move up to my weight class. You’re a great fighter and we’d renew the Puerto Rican-Mexican rivalry that always turns out to be a memorable slugfest. It’s a fight boxing fans all over the world would love to watch.

I am a three-time World Champion. My WBA Super Welterweight Title winning bout May 6 against Alejandro Garcia on Showtime is the leading 2006 Fight of the Year. I dropped Garcia five times and he’d only been floored once coming into our fight.

I work fulltime as a Court Officer to support my family. How many other World Champions have a fulltime job? I work hard. I have overcome many obstacles and now I want a big payday. I have earned that and you’re my meal ticket, Antonio.

Mr. Arum, I read your quote, “Anybody with the guts to fight Antonio is fine with me.” Well, I have the guts to fight Antonio. You know my promoter, Don King. I’m sure that you two can work out the details. I’ll fight him in his backyard if that’s what it takes to make it happen. You offered Mayweather 8 million to fight and I will do it for 1 million.

Antonio let’s get it on. So far, you’ve talked about fighting everybody, but me. Here’s your chance to fight a real World Champion.

                  Waiting to hear from you,

                  “El Gallo” Jose Antonio Rivera

                  Three-Time World Champion

would be a good fight and i would take rivera just because he would have the advantage in the boxing department and he can pack a punch.
