He needs to let this go. He’s coming across as extremely bitter and jealous. Just admit you lost to the better man, and Cortez allowed a ton in that fight. It wasn’t a fight to the death, or a MMA fight, it’s boxing. It’s embarrassing that he’s still going on about this it’s been almost 13 years, and I say this as someone who was a huge fan of Hatton at the time and is from the same area. He needs to let it go - Floyd has shown him nothing but respect since then. There’s no shame in losing to TBE.
Hatton Believes Cortez Cost him fight With Mayweather
Collapse

Phuck Hatton, he thinks mauling and excessive clinching the way Vann always allowed him to do in Manchester, would be allowed in America? He should have joined the WWE. He got beat at his own game. Cortez didn’t cost him anything, he got his as* whooped.Comment

- -Joe "I'm fairly infirm" Cortez and Team TUE in a panic when a Ricky jab KDed TUE in the 1st, rd.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/bo...ayweather.html
The fight was scheduled for 12 rounds, Hatton had prepared for 15. In the end Mayweather would need only 10.
'It f****** winds me up to watch it now, honestly it does,' the Hitman cries when Sportsmail visits his gym to watch and relive the money-spinning showdown.
'I knew it was going to be the toughest fight of my life,' he remembers.
'I still to this day think I had a chance of beating him but I think they pulled the rug out from under me, I really do.'
After nine-and-a-half ferocious rounds, Hatton was stopped for the first time in his career by the former five-weight world champion.
But it was the third man in the ring — referee Joe Cortez — who would steal the headlines.
Check out how bias the author gets there at the end.
'Embarrassing,' is Hatton's verdict on the official's performance 10 years later. 'Absolutely disgusting,' snarls his then-trainer Billy Graham.
No worries guys, no call, so now watch me ride Ricky's back for the next 7 rds to prevent an actual fight from breaking out.
Then he backs off so TUE can run at will as a desperate Ricky has to chase him down.
Even the KD flattered TUE who simultaneously swapped left hooks with the leaping Ricky that saw him off balance to head the turnbuckle.
I don't suggest any of U jug heads try that as that can be fatal or paralyzing for life. Bayliss much the same.
When TUE fought Tenshin in Japan, recall he first fled home squalling for daddy and backing out. The promoter sweetened the deal and agreed to fly out Bayliss as part of Team TUE for an exhibition against a 20 yr old Japanese Banty making his boxing debut.
U can't make up this shhh if U tried!!!Comment

Hatton was a dirty fighter. Still remember how he was punching tszyu in the back of the head at the end of every round. In the end he got his just deserts each time he fought a top fighter.Comment

lol.. rick wasnt gonna beat floyd even if he was allow to cheat or not! not sure why hatton is kinda held to such a high standard on here.. dude is a dumb azz fighter and in the pac fight it proves it! "same move, right hook roll under" then continue to get caught with that same move.. lol!Comment

As expected everyone who says Hatton was dirty likes Ward. Floyd would have beat Hatton either way but there's no denying Cortez is a garbage ref.Comment
