I would too . I picture chris byrd vs Shaun george for some reason. Without martinez moving down 25 lbs and 2 weight divisions like byrd did . I dont wanna see martinez do this , he needs to stay retired .

I almost fear him winning more than him losing . Last thing I wanna see is him squeak by a couple kerman's of the world and get in with a killer and get hurt .

The article claimed Kerman had been the EBU (European) champion in the 154 category, but Kerman was the 147 champion. Another Spaniard holds the 154 EBU belt, Sergio Garcia. He and Kerman are frequent sparring partners. Followiing his two losses to David Avanesyan, Kerman stepped up to 154, as he could not make weight at 147 anymore. That was part of the reason he lost to Avanesyan. When Garcia hopefully soon gets a chance to fight for a world title, Kerman would probably get his chance to fight for the 154 EBU title.

Martinez should in my opinion stay away from Kerman and boxing at this age. The fight would probably draw 10.000 spectators in Bilbao and make for a great event, but other than beating a name, I don't see how this improves Kerman's chances of a title fight. He should focus on establishing himself in the 154 division. If Martinez wants to fight someone, there is enough of journeymen to pick and choose from, but that probably wouldn't give him that smell of past glory as it would be to box in front of 10.000 Spanish boxing enthusiasts.

Hopefully this is nothing more than a publicity stunt.
