No one really expected Fury to bully Wilder around, but when you have a 45-50lb Weight advantage you should be the bully. And that's what he did. The fight shouldn't have been stopped, but it didn't look like Wilder had too much left.
      ortizz??? lol no man.

Ortiz had no muster on anything he landed on wilder. Old man style

Fury won't help Wilder out like that, and I don't see anything Deontay can do in a 3rd fight that he hasn't already tried - and it didn't work with Fury.

Hope that I have that same confidence again. I had that confidence 100% before the postponement of the fight that Tyson Fury was going to TKO Wilder sooner in the third. Now with time to rest, I still fear that equalizer, especially in the heavyweight division.

          Agreed!

Those saying there is nothing Wilder can do different are way off. There are plenty of things. Will it matter? It's not easy to tell, and I understand many thinking it won't.

Fury's glove situation will be highly scrutinized next time around ... and whether they glove him with his fists in the laced area. It appears he got away with one on that.

As a Wilder fan (not fan-girl), that doesn't address the most important problems Wilder had. He was not able on fight night to go a full, hard 12 round fight. It almost looked like his first championship fight ... he was very tight and nervous in the ring. His legs definitely weren't there after a couple rounds, and thus his balance was terrible (understanding his footwork can be suspect at times). Something was wrong with his body or preparation (only he can figure out what and why).

Also, his mindset was a bit unfocused and passive after the first round. He ended that round with a massive shot, that got Fury's attention, but he didn't or couldn't bring that intensity the very next round. Gloves proper or not, Wilder can't let Fury or any other HW come out, back him up, and unload on him high and low, without paying a price for the aggression. To Fury's credit, he never gave Wilder a moment to gather himself ... he kept pressing and swinging. Wilder has to be prepared for that, and for potentially 12 rounds of that pace (not just in the Fury fight). If he's not prepared for that his championship days are over.

I thought and still think Wilder is up to it. He did not respond well at all in F/W II. He will have to be prepared for a 12 round war going forward, or else. Fury probably won't lose focus like Ruiz, and not come prepared.

Team Wilder has to do much better checking the gloves and every other aspect of keeping things within the rules. That part of the fight Team Wilder failed. There shouldn't be a glove issue when you have people who are suppoosed to be on top of that. It's just as important a part of the fight. The glove taping on camera should be a part of the contract ... it helps keep things on the up and up.

Wilder has to come prepared to be at peak on fight night. I never have liked the prefight theater that promoters want ("entertainment" - bleh!). Too much time and attention on music, costumes, etc. Let's get ready to rumble!

          • "We had a lot of complications before the fight. My legs were never right." - something to that effect...

You wear a 450lb Sauron suit and see if you can be the one to rule all the rings DAMN IT! That costume was dope AF though! If only wilder was as kick a!$ as his costume...

In my opinion, i think wilder was sooo nervous before the fight, he was pacing in his dressing room for like 20 minutes burning up energy, than he put on a heavy a$$ suit and wore it for probably 30 minutes or so. Also, the suit was probably hot as hell with those battery packs which probably wore him out even more... Along with the walk

Think about it though, you were just pacing in your locker room for 20 minutes. Then you put on a 45 lb suit and you weight 20 minutes for fury to make his entrance. Then you take 10-15 minutes with your ring walk and climb into the ring with a suit that has a battery generating a **** load of heat... Along with butterflies and nerves... Then you fight 20lbs heavier than you've ever fought before... All that weight in your upper body... Then you fight a guy who is 40+ pounds heavier than you and is putting his weight onto you and your legs are having to endure all that extra weight... While already being fatigued...

Not making excuses for him but if you put all of those together, i can believe he was not himself. Especially after the first couple rounds... The first 2 rounds were closer than what you think.

It was just a perfect dark cloud storm not in his favor... Along with fury preparing for the fight of his life...

Sometimes it's just not your night.

*yawn*...it was in the side of the head, and said shot landed there because Wilder turned away. Said shot was also the same as Wilder dropped Fury with in the ninth of the first fight...and Fury got back up and won that round...so pull the other one chap.

Ortiz had Wilder out on his legs in the first go and embarrassingly outboxed him in the rematch. Now, what does that say about Wilder if Ortiz is just an old man? Lol
