Comments Thread For: Jacobs: Canelo Was Trickier, But Triple-G Fight Was Probably Tougher

Daniel Jacobs came closer to beating Gennadiy Golovkin than he did winning his fight against Canelo Alvarez. The former IBF and WBA middleweight champion still considers the Golovkin fight to have been a more challenging assignment than his loss to Mexico's Alvarez. Jacobs compared those two 12-round, unanimous-decision defeats during an Instagram Live interview with promoter Eddie Hearn on Monday.

Jacobs was reluctant to let his hands go vs Canelo because he kept getting countered but he's acting surprised it wasn't more action packed? lol Obviously trying to deflect attention from how ineffective he looked in many of those rounds.

Jacobs came just a bit short against these absolute top guys. But he is true a warrior I admire a lot. I would like to see him fight Canelo and triple-GGG again.

Jacobs vs Canelo = snooze fest slash money grab. Just imagine if you would have travelled and paid to see this?

I had him losing by a round to ggg and drawing to canelo.

I think Danny Jacob's could be alot better if he fought more assertively. He has alot of talent he's just too passive at times.

Jacobs was too cautious in both fights IMO.

Canelo vs Jacobs looked like a glorified sparring session. Neither guy was offensive minded and both were content to go 12... In short, it was a boring fight.

                    Golovkin beat Jacobs.
                    Jacobs beat Derevyanchenko.
                    Derevyanchenko beat Golovkin.

Canelo beat both Jabos and Golovkin

                    Question: Who is the Boss?
