  • Comments Thread For: Andrade: I Would Definitely Love To Take Derevyanchenko Fight

Demetrius Andrade is more interested in facing Canelo Alvarez, Gennadiy Golovkin or Jermall Charlo in higher-profile fights. But after defeating Walter Kautondokwa, Artur Akavov, Maciej Sulecki and Luke Keeler in his past four appearances, Andrade also would welcome a tough test against an opponent some middleweights won't box. The unbeaten WBO middleweight champion discussed a possible voluntary title defense against Sergiy Derevyanchenko during an Instagram Live interview with promoter Eddie Hearn.

A better question here is how in the heck is "Liam Williams" the number one contender and Chenko is ranked #6 under the WBO? Chenko is world class and would whip Williams everyday and twice on Sunday. I think Andrade is talented and would probably beat Charlo, But I think Chenko would beat Charlo as well and him and Andrade would be an excellent toss up fight. Andrade is not getting any younger and needs to stop fighting the Liam's of the world.

Make it happen Eddie Hearn. This would be an excellent way to test just how good Andrade is.

I want Andrade to get a decent fight just so people stop talking about him.

And so where we see where he's at. Not sure who I'd pick between Andrade and Derevyanchenko tbh.

I feel like Andrade is a wild fighter who relies on awkwardness and athleticism. Some can get away with it but not with his particular style; he leans away from danger. A guy like Derev would walk right into him and break him down.

There’s a few boxers loving lockdown because they can call out anyone safe in the knowledge they’re not going to fight any time soon ...
