The rules have changed. I would bet my money that Floyd wouldn’t have any issue fighting a 15 rounds fight. I know it’s an unspoken rule for boxing fans to always give the edge to boxers of the past over the current boxers when it comes to head-to-head matchup, but stylistically, Floyd would’ve figure him out and make it a slow pace fight. I think Hearns would be the one who would be able to walk through Floyd and give him hell. I would definitely pick Hearns to beat Floyd. Floyd-Leonard is 50-50 or 60-40 in favor of Floyd.
Mayweather vs Sugar Ray Leonard - who wins?

Floyd has an iron jaw and one of the best staminas of all time.
Leonard would be tired in the late rounds where Floyd would dominate.
lol if you think leonard stops floyd, youre dreaming.Comment

Among the 4 kings Floyd does best against Leonard
Duran VS Floyd would be better fight. Someone who can beat Floyd without a major size advantageComment

why would Leonard be tired?
Leonard stopped two all time greats in the championship roundsComment

Floyd would benefit from 15 rounds more than any other modern fighter. He is always fresh in the late rounds while his opponents are tired.
Yes Hearns is a harder matchup for floyd than SRL.
SRL could certainly decision floyd, but it wouldnt be easy and people thinking he stops floyd are delusional.Comment

Floyd would be the fresher of the two. Floyd always conserves energy. Floyd has never been in a situation in his entire career where he was the less fresh fighter in the late rounds, the same would hold true vs leonard.Comment

I dont give Floyd late stamina credit in rounds 13, 14, and 15 for not ever having fought those rounds in a pro ring. Floyd would not be able to figure out a fighter who could be a slick boxer and switch up and rip power punches. Not a prime welterweight ATG like Leonard who would penetrate Floyd's defense with lightning speed. And no way in hell would the fight be a 50-50 or near that. Leonard would be favored 2-1.The rules have changed. I would bet my money that Floyd wouldn’t have any issue fighting a 15 rounds fight. Not even remotely true. Leonard went 15 and even stopped fighters in the late rounds. Floyd has never seen the 13th, 14th, or 15th round. The data is overwhelming in Leonard's favor. He went deeper into fights that Floyd has never seen. Leonard clear UD.Comment

One of the clearest matchups where I confidently pick against Mayweather.
Floyd has trouble with fighters who are faster than him, can pressure him effectively and keep this up the whole fight. SRL has all the goods.
This is much more evident the other way around. A past prime De La Hoya, a rough Maidana, Castillo, Judah etc. gave Floyd a lot of trouble. Those were nowhere near Leonard's level, and if we want to compare opponents, SRL faced asolutely superior competition. He's got one of the most densely packed resume in combat sports history.Comment
