Ricco Rodriguez (former UFC champion, now 42)

Mark Godbeer (Ken Shamrock's Valor BK champ)
    3-0 in bare knuckle
    13-5 in MMA

Briggs would be favored against any of them, even at 48.
Thanks for the info !! I was just about to look into who the possible opponents may be. I think he should be favored but I would lay some cash down on godbeer , ricco or Beltran to win via decision . Iam not saying I would pick that to happen, but if u read my first post up there ^ . Briggs wasnt active for a heavyweight in his later years , Even in the tail end of his prime . In a 5 round fight if he doesnt catch his opponent he can be outworked by people well below him in pedigree. A few of these older vets come into those c level boxing tourneys that are 3 rounds , or bare knuckle for 5 and get outworked by lesser foes . For example rahman vs nantz , and malignaggi vs Lobov ( I actually had paulie winning narrowly, but with the rounds being swing rounds after 2 , the fight could have been a draw or the decision it was and I wouldn't complain ). Not saying I would pick any of these guys , but I could see it happening if briggs doesnt catch them or hurt them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this whole bare knuckle boxing business is for fighters who can't cut it in real boxing but still want to feel like a big man. It's never serious fighters who take this stuff up, it's always the drama queens and attention-seeking clowns like Briggs and Paulie. It wouldn't surprise me if Broner or Chavez Jr. end up there a few years down the road.

        Good call rookie. Green'd.

Get this man a little training in front of the camera and let him make coin that way...he'd be good for it!

Maybe they have less testing so he can get away with juicing unlike his boxing "comeback".

Shannon Briggs vs. Gypsy John Fury in a no rules straightner held in a barn somewhere in Lancashire...I’d watch that.

I like Briggs. Too bad he couldn't make money doing something else. This has got to be a money thing. The man certainly has enough charisma to be in WWE or maybe he would be a good announcer?

I love Shannon Briggs, but he need to rethink this.

Please Champ, retire. I know you are strong and in shape at your age, but one thing is feel strong and in shape without fighting and another thing is fighting with other professionals who have more gas, chin and fight back. That is not good for someone with 48 years I believe.

Clearly your wrong. Paulie was a world champion. Briggs was a world champion. Also; Broner and Chavez Jr were both world champions. So explain to me how ex world champions didn't cut it in boxing?when 99% of boxers never win world titles?

Sure, both Paulie and Briggs were good fighters back in the day. Key phrase: back in the day. They've both been washed up for years but clearly neither one of them wants to face the music, and that's lead to massive amounts of embarrassing behaviour from both of them.

Your not the one getting punched or even getting embarrassed
