The fact is these experts are clearly haters and want nothing more than to see the new breed of eastern european heavyweights crash and burn.

My man Larry Merchant says it like it is. I'd love to split a handle of Southern Comfort with the guy sometime and just shoot the **** about boxing.

He wasnt even close to being knocked out or knocked down ever in his career. He had Lewis stubbling and hurt in their fight. Also did u see the shots he took from Corrie Sanders and the right hands and uppercuts from Lewis and still stayed on his feet, I dont know what your talking about in the above post but its not even close to being right or true...

still briggs has a better chance of beating wlad than toney, brock or IMO, rahman...

you must have either been high on crack or watching it with your eyes closed. lewis did win the fight fair and square but it was he who was badly wobbled in that fight. vitali never appeared hurt and jumped up off his stool on steady legs when hearing the fight was stopped. vitali had a very good chin. he's demonstrated that many times in his career

I realize he was never really close to being Koed but I still think as soon as we did see him in trouble he would fold like his brother.......I simply don't like those ****ers so yes I may be a bit biased.I really like Sultan Ibragimov and Lyakovich but can't ****ing stand Valuev or the Klits...... What can I say...

Here, here are some big punchers Vital faced who all hit at least on the level of Rahman.

                    Danny Williams
                    Corrie Sanders
Kirk Johnson (the weakest hitter on this list but he still hit about as hard as Rahman IMO)
                    Lennox Lewis
                    Ross Puritty
                    Herbie Hide

These guys could all **** and Vitali was not afraid of them. Yet he was in danger of getting knocked out by Hasim Rahman? Big bad Hasim Rahman who went the full ten rounds (winning by only two points on each judge's scorecard) with an over the hill Al Cole who Corrie Sanders destroyed in a single round when Al was 4 years younger?

Yeah I'm sure Vitali Klitschko, who took on the best heavyweight since Tyson on short notice, was afraid of Hasim Rahman. Chased him right into retirement didn't he?

Vitali Klischko would have killed Rahman...beat him to death slowly, to be more exact.

                    Achilles is correct.

Dude, if you ever get a chance at that, you gotta call me. I've been Merchant's biggest fan for years. He is the man when it come to telling it like it is and pulling no punches...and he says it with flair.

                      I'll buy the first round.

PS: Cosell is the only one I admire more....and acutally I hold them about even.

(No offense to the late great Don Dunphey; but he did delve into analysis as much as he just called it....love Don too)
