Comments Thread For: Warrington: I See Many Things To Expose With Gary Russell; He's There For The Taking

Josh Warrington's promoter isn't as sure as Warrington that Gary Russell Jr. is the right opponent for him. Nevertheless, the unbeaten IBF featherweight title-holder is completely confident in his ability to beat boxing's longest-reigning champion. Warrington spoke about Russell, who owns the WBC featherweight title, during an Instagram Live interview with Eddie Hearn, Warrington's promoter, on Monday.

Fighting GRJ would be a "massive scrap," but he's still fighting Xu!

Warrington fighting Xu in a fake unification title fight.

The Xu fight isn't a unification when wba gave a super champ in that division.
More bullcrap from Warrington, after he walks away from Stevenson, now talks about GRJ but signs to fight Xu?!
        'nuff said.

Can’t realistically see Warrington beating Russell Jr.

I think Warrington can make the fight a worthy scrap with his relentless pressure and toughness, but he’ll still get outlanded and beat by unanimous decision. Soz Warry.

Warrington talks a good game but realistically GRJ will beat him. I dont know that it would even be close IMO GRJ hand speed is dynamite and technically he's 1 of the best in sport. I wanna see a rematch with Lomo and GRJ

Good fight, one that would be exciting for the fans!

I would pick Russell to come out with his hand raised, the speed and technical ability of Mr.Russell would be too much for Warrington unless he overwhelms Gary and of Gary has lost a step!

For quite some time I felt Russell was the best featherweight on the planet ever since he lost to Loma! Only person to trouble him would be Stevenson due to the size and style match up!

He didn't sign with Hearn looking for a challenge. He's actually fighting a guy named Can.
