Did anyone else notice that Helenius is now WBA Gold Champion?

The WBA lists Robert Helenius as gold champion now, making Helenius the fourth WBA heavyweight champion.

Anthony Joshua, the super champion, hasn’t been ordered to fight a WBA mandatory since winning the title and seems far from being involved in a WBA unification. Regular champion Manual Charr is supposed to face interim champion Trevor Bryan next (whenever that is) in a fight that will at least help condense this championship list.

The WBA Gold title was not announced as a title being at stake in the Helenius-Adam Kownacki fight by the television crew or ring announcer. The television commentators seemed to be under the impression that the winner of the fight would be the new mandatory to Anthony Joshua.

I wonder if we’ll ever hear what actually happened.

The WBA currently lists interim champion Bryan as the number one contender and he’s the only champion who is actually ranked. Joshua, Charr and Helenius have all been pulled from the rankings and given a title above the actual listing.

Helenius victim Adam Kownacki now sits at number six in the WBA rankings after his loss, behind Bryan, third ranked Oleksander Usyk and three fighters who, like Kownacki, lost their last fight.

Former WBC champion Deontay Wilder is number two in the wba rankings after losing to Tyson Fury. Luis Ortiz sits at number four even after a loss in his last fight to Wilder. Andy Ruiz is fifth and his last fight was a loss to Anthony Joshua.

No one notices anything about Helenius until it’s too late. War Helenius.

Joshua is the only WBA champ. Don't highlight the other nonsense.

He won the belt in 2019 but is no longer wba gold champion or ranked by the wba.

Helenius is a likable fella and I was happy that he won even though I picked Kownacki.

Definitely looking forward to his next fight
