Two wins over canelo. Jacobs and derecychenko are good wins too

      You beat me to it

We would've never seen the second fight if the first one was called fairly. The second one was a Canelo victory IMO

Going off that logic, I can easily say Golovkin lost to Canelo, Jacobs and Derv.... Which will mean his single best most defining win was against David Lemieux.

        Let that sink in

That's about right I should imagine. HoF, good chance first ballot, but not ATG though I always say that's for historians of the future to decide.

Very good fighter H2H but ATG Golovkin is not, even given the the fairly impressive length of his title reign. He just hasn't got the resume. You can credit the guy with consistency... and whatever else he had as good a record as almost anyone against top 10 guys in his division through the last decade, and the KO record remains impressive given the level.

Seems Golovkin's the guy many folk love to hate, perhaps because the results never quite matched the hype and the hopes, but it's sometimes lost that he did actually have a very solid winning streak even if it lacked real excellence.

Compare him to ATGs or even the true superstars and he's significantly lacking, compare him to most 'regular' fighters or even champions, few of whom make it past even a few defenses and it looks a lot better. I think gauging Golovkin's success really depends on what lens you're using.

You're a more reasonable, level headed, objective fan, Koba.

If more GGG fans were like you, I wouldn't be forced to do this. But it's his fan base that brings this reign of terror on Golovkin the fighter.

I understand that, man. Not gonna say it doesn't bother me but I get the reason. Shame to see any good fighter run down though in my eyes.

Actually a damn shame cos without all that bullchit it woulda been easier to appreciate the guy more, but I'm getting a sense of the irritation you guys musta fellt during the May - Pac wars, on both siudes I imagine. Fact a good part of this nonsense is just a proxy continuation of that I think... certainly to the dude who's currently stalking me it is...

Most people thought he won the first fight against Canelo(me included) and the second fight was close too. If he had got any of those two decisions people would be making the exact same threads about Alvarez. Hes a brilliant fighter and deserves respect and I hope the third fight happens.

Better question is: would GGG be considered an ATG if he was given the decision in the first Canelo fight?
