Comments Thread For: Ryan Garcia: My Fight With Gervonta Davis Should Be $80 On DAZN PPV

Ryan Garcia wants to disrupt the distribution format for his fights. The Golden Boy promoted Garcia (20-0, 17 KOs) fights exclusively on DAZN, but he's screaming from the mountaintops for a bout with WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis (23-0, 22 KOs), a PBC fighter who for years has fought on Showtime.

No one is paying $80 on top of the DAZN subscription. I think this would be one hell of an entertaining fight but, let’s be real, the casuals don’t know how these guys are and DAZN doesn’t have deep enough pockets to promote this the way Fox/ESPN did with Fury vs. Wilder II. I’m sorry, but this fight isn’t getting made any time soon.

This kid really expect DAZN to change their whole business model and slogan?

Clearly chasing clout, fooled me for a second though.

Why? You have fought and beaten exactly ZERO world class fighters. ZERO

These two youngsters may be lacking a resume' of any sort, but definitely have big followings. Fight would do well on PPV and especially at the gate. I do wonder how they were going to make this fight and on what network. If you do dual PPV with SHO and DAZN, then it can work.
