I wonder if I’m the only one that thinks about Tyson’s career and thought would could have been. I mean, what if he took Buster seriously, how would have his career played out and led up to the Holyfield fight. If Bowe & Lennox & Michael Moore could beat Holyfield, why couldn’t a ultra focused and committed Tyson. Fame and fortune and carelessness and having the wrong people and wrong trainers around messed up Mike. What if Mike was as dedicated to his craft as Ali or Leonard or Mayweather or Manny or Hopkins. What if he got up for every fight like them.

Tyson should be one to talk about Wilder. He never rose to the occasion during his career after a loss. The only time that he did is when he bite Holyfield in the second fight to get out of the fight. This message would sound better coming from Holyfield or Lewis, not Tyson.

Mikes mind was his downfall, he blamed everyone for taking his money and happiness, He alienated himself from the 2nd best sustainer of the Cus style - Keven Rooney. Mike wanted no more of him when Kevin told Robin Givens that Mike was a bit immature and to 'watch him.' When Mikes skills pretty much depleted after jail, he really had no trainer to bring his peek-a-boo form back. Even Lennox admitted he fought the depleted version of Mike.
Mike at one point relied on intimidation, because his past KO's looked brutal - and his new opponents "remembered" them and froze..lol. But before that(?) Mike always was ready, he was 5'10" - 215lbs - NOTHING close to your traditional heavyweight but he handled himself very well. And if Mike was such an unskilled bum as some say, then why werent those fights against those so-called "bums" he fought more even at the outcome?
A classic Mike in peak form was when he fought an undefeated well prepared and elusive Tony Tucker! Tony had some SRLeonard in him and made a well prepared Tyson pay. All those big heavyweights stepped up their game for Mike - in no way was it ever easy for Mike back then - Mike had that Mayweather BEAST training that was 2nd to none - and those bigger stronger heavyweights were "surprised" when they felt shots placed with speed & precision.
Mike was much much more than some irrelevant bully. But naysayers need to thrive and state their one-sided case. Yeah, some opponents later on ended up being scared of Mike, but whose fault was that? A good healthy solid rep can make most opponents wilt. Holyfield - as good as he was, rammed his head into Tysons face and the ref let it continue.....lol..I'm gonna stop right here - I could go on and on boring you to death..lol.
Mike was special, but he squandered it. Life lessons came calling and boxing took a back seat. The thing is, he had to muster some of those skills to keep getting those fat paychecks - but those peak skills were no longer there.... Coulda, woulda, shoulda......Comment
