Are we getting an undisputed lightweight champion?

It’s been 18 years since there was an undisputed champion at 135.

The winner of Lomachenko-Lopez would have to face the winner of Campbell-Fortuna for this to happen. Devin Haney also has a say in all of this.

If Lomachenko wins, I could see him fighting Fortuna to become undisputed. I have no idea why he would face Campbell again.

Lopez would probably be willing to face both of them if he isn’t in a rush to get to 140.

I don’t see Loma/Lopez and Haney fighting though. Too many promotional and TV roadblocks.

I feel like after all of Lomachenko’s belt collecting and after we actually got all four belts with boxers on the same promotional/TV team, it’s about to go up in smoke and we’ll have to wait much longer for an undisputed lightweight champion.

Do you think we’ll have an undisputed champion at lightweight anytime soon?

Probably not. with 4 alphabet groups and network feuds undisputed champions in any given weight classes are very rare and never last long. With 17 different weight classes not a single one has an undisputed champion to my knowledge. why would lightweight be different? Maybe sometime in the next 17 years we will have an undisputed lightweight champion for a few months before that title becomes disputed again. Numerous champions in every weight classes is something boxing fans must live with.

I doubt it... even if it was for the undisputed would anyone actually wanna see Loma-Campbell again?

Then if Fortuna wins I imagine he likely fights Tank, Easter or one of the PBC guys as I doubt there will be enough demand for Loma-Fortuna to prompt TR and PBC to work together.

Maybe if Lopez upsets Loma, and Campbell beats Fortuna we get a Lopez-Campbell unification but that is highly unlikely.

Loma vs Lopez should be for the undisputed title because all this franchise stuff is complete BS. I don’t really care who holds the ABC belts, I just wanna know who the undisputed #1 in the division is and Loma vs Lopez will tell us that.
