People talk about Dawson fighting old men, but those old men were very, very good when he fought them back to back. I think his career is currently around the level of Terry Norris, a couple of points below Terry in my book, so I agree with you that he has a good chance. However, a lot of these guys were also multiweight champions, and Dawson's best chance at that was at super middle. He should have fought someone else other than Ward, but he was chasing legacy. I don't think he had the power to win at cruiser.

He might have a shot in a very, very weak year, but even then, I suspect his resume will be neutralized by the memory of him quitting against Ward (unfairly, I should add)

Yes. I think he deserves to get in without much room to spare. He was good enough but somewhat inconsistent.He was excellent in some fights and just average in other fights.He beat enough good fighters to make it in.Comment
