I've been a Linares fan since he was training out of Japan. But the guy just really ain't the most durable of fighters.

It's going to be a sad day for Linares. If he does lose, he may as well get one more fight in and then hang up his gloves. He shouldn't be losing to social media boxers, not with the amount of blood sweat and tears in this game, while this kid just posts showy double end bag training.

I will say though. I don't like this Garcia guy but he's better than Haney. So, I wouldn't be surprised if he does beat Linares truth be told.

Comparing this hype-job Ryan Garcia to the 'Golden-Boy' is way off base. Ryan's looks has nothing to do with this, hes not no 'Pretty-Boy' Josh Kelly ; now that's a pretty English-muffin right there, HA!

It's the social media thing.

You know how there are "soundcloud rappers" and "influencers".

He's literally boxing's first social media "influencer". He'll either be that or boxing's first social media based star.

He seems somewhat talented. He's not great, a lot of holes in his game but by comparison, he's better than Haney right now. But I question how much of a boxer is he really if his hype gets de-railed.

Will he really want to box when it's no longer pretty on social media? When he's getting into dog fights, will he be another Victor Ortiz vs Maidana? Or is he an actual boxer?

I think thats where the hate generates from.

I don't like him. I feel he's just about likes on social media BUT objectively speaking, he's not all that bad actually.

He has better technique and fundamentals than Devin Haney and he's the guy coming up alongside him (like a rival of sorts) that is being seen as a "real boxer".

So it's not all negative with him, objectively speaking. For me, at least.
