I know he beat Spike O’Sullivan UD well back in the day according to boxrec. I know Lemieux destroyed Spike. BJS embarrassed Lemieux skill wise. Course GGG walked right through Lemieux’s punches which I think showed the levels to this game. From what I’ve seen I predicted Canelo would be around -600 or maybe more vs BJS. I figured Canelo would be conservatively -250 or more vs GGG in the trilogy. But that’s just predicting Vegas odds which is usually obvious. Not the same as owning up to an outcome. But if u have film u recommend to see on BJS ill watch it. Maybe he’s sitting around and will end up getting the winner at an even greater purse, cause that’s how boxing works sometimes / : I personally wanted Nelo v Beterbiev. I just thought it would have been a shocking match to make. And even as a cdn I think Nelo could have shut everyone up with an amazing performance, he’s that good.
I’m from mtl and I’ve been following Beterbiev since he got here
Honestly I don’t think Canelo would have it in him to beat Beterbiev
I think the accumulation of punishment would be to much and in all reality Canelo is not a light heavyweight
Beterbiev is really a special fighter imo
He’s clean living , family guy , never an iota of negative news about him
If he’s not home , he’s at the gym
Spoke to John Scully , who’s part of his team and was at his camp for the Fanlong fight , he told me ( 2nd person who’d seen him preparing ) that he looked in tremendous shape
He knows age is catching up to him and really wants to be unified champ before moving along
Anyway BJS was a much better fighter before ( not sure if it has anything to do with the nasal spray or not ) slick counter boxer , limited power but decent
Now not so sure about him
You’d have to go on YouTube for his fights

I’m not from ur neck of the woods but I’m bilingual, not that it has anything do to with anything. I just want to see Beterbiev fight sum real names. He punches likes he’s chopping down trees, just gets to people. He fights until the ref stops him. I’m sure that doesn’t help get him fights. I mean I don’t expect this Fanlong fight to even happen. I know he’s not young, but at least he’s traveled and is where he is with the little fights he’s had. I want to see more of him before I see anybody else. I just want to goad Nelo into fighting him. I know all the reasons why he wouldn’t, but I still would be intrigued with nelos experience and Beterbiev’s lack of comparatively. I just want to see him get a shot at fighters that will show what he is. Im not as much concerned that he has to end up being “special” but just want to be able to get the chance to find out.

        I hear you
Anyway the Fanlong dude is his mandatory so that fight is going to happen no matter what unless he drops his belt
I’d much rather see him against Bivol
You do know about his amateur career , which was a pretty darn good one
Don’t wanna compare amateurs to pros but it is a gateway to know a little more about him than the average fighter
I think the Canelo fight is wishful thinking and if ever it would happen I’d give it another 3-4 years before it happens

Yeah Bivol is a good boxer, nice jab. But he’s another late starter. Great amateur record but hard to quantify. Gone the distance in his last four fights. I remember seeing him look a bit stringy in one of his recent fights, like he was built to only score points. Beterbiev v Canelo was definitely never going to happen. U will have to pardon me, I’m just spinning my wheels. It’s not like I expected part time fighter Andre Ward to come out of retirement for a huge pay day to fight Canelo.

You do know that Ward retired not to face Beterbiev
Anyway it’s supposed to be going down in Russia , next year big unification with Bivol
That would be huge over there
Originally they wanted Kovi but in there’s going to be unification they’ll make it with Bivol
Beterbiev already beat Kovi and Kovi is shot

I know Ward retired because he’s a part time fighter. I mean I knew he was good back when he started as All Terrain Fighter. But with that nickname he sure fought a lot in Oakland. Beterbiev only had 11 fights when Ward retired though. U will have to pardon me but who is “Kovi”! Kovalev? Beterbiev already beat Kovi? Did u mean Canelo? For my two cents I don’t hold my breathe for anything happening in Russia.

Yes , Beterbiev beat Kovalev in the amateurs
He also beat Gvozdyk in the amateurs
