Late comments on fights from saturday Marquez-Forrest-Quartey

    On R. Marquez-Mabuza:
Again, i hope you people give more credit to Mabuza in the future (i know he didn't receive much in their first fight).. i'd favor over many of the top guys at the bantamweight.. i wasn't upset with the stoppage by the corner there because of such a tremendous beating Marquez put on Mabuza in that 9th round, i really look forward to following Mabuza in the future

    J.M. Marquez-Jandaeng:
I'll always give a Thailand boxer credit regardless of whether i've seen them or not, merely because i've never seen a quality fighter out of Thailand without heart.. Jandaeng took some shots that would've stopped other fighters way before the 7th and he even made the fight interesting, two very solid fights from Showtime (although they really need to get their "outdoor" production equipment in check in the future, everytime Nady screamed, i thought my speakers were gonna burst )

    Ouma-Powell:
The fight went just like i expected it to. Ouma's the biggest threat in the 154 division, period. He's arguebly one of the best pressure fighters in the sport today. IMO he deserves way more credit than he's given. On Powell, i still think he's a huge threat in his division, i think his whole gameplan was simply thrown off that night. Another great performance from 'The Dream'... title shot eminent?

    Forrest-Quartey:
Great performance from both fighters first of all. As a Viper fan, i was happy with the decision , although i'd have to say Quartey won the fight in honesty (especially with the extremely unneccessary point deduction, the blow was obviously unintentional as you can see Forrest trying to pull the punch back in the replay, (btw, what's with the ref "forcing" the fighters to touch gloves?, if the fighters don't want to, they don't have to, really didn't like the referee)) It's troubling to see Forrest continue to have problems letting his left go and i have a problem believing it's going to be a major attack ever again in his fights. I would say, however, that both guys still have a future in boxing. Another set of great fights, this time from HBO.

Hopefully i can be in town to talk with yall about fights on time the next go around..

I thought they both fought horribly and looked like they both needed to retire. Maybe it was just getting back into big fight territory, but this was pathetic. Neither guy looked like he was trying to win. Did you really think they both fought a great fight?

i can give props to Pacquiao for being a very good fighter regardless of wether he beat some of my favorite fighters, you have blind hatred towards JMM just because pacuiao couldn't finish him. I could see you being upset because the rematch wasnt made but he explained the way he saw the deal and why de didnt take. That aside, terdsak is no tomato can and he will trouble any fighter in the lighter division and he has tons of heart, marquez was just the better man and won an exciting fight. You can't say he was boring so you move to the next offense, the other guy was a tomato can. bull****, he took guzman the distance and showed he was a solid opponent, but marquez was just the better man.

i know it hurts to admit the guy that pushed pacquiao to the limit is good but try not hating so much, give respect where respect is due.

there is not a limited amount of respect, you can respect pacquiao AND marquez as do I, you don't have to pray at night to pacquiao and call every other fighter a bum, especially if he poses a threat.

I have zero respect for Marquez for ducking the Pacquiao rematch. You knew he was going to because he said in the postfight interviews that he thought he won and had nothing more to prove (very similar to Wright, who knew he lost to Taylor). Rest assured, the guy who doesn't want the rematch in a draw is the guy who thinks he lost every single time.

I can understand why you would believe that although i don't agree with you. But because you lost respect for a guy you are now going to turn around and diminish his accomplishments and hate on him every time, no matter what happens? that's what's called hating.

I hate the fact that chico spit out his mouthpiece in the tenth round and bought him self time, which let him get re-oriented and catch JLC, but i'm not going to hate him from now on and say he's fighting **** fighters and that he needs to cheat to not get ktfo. because the fact is, he did what he did but he's still a warrior with great power and puts on great fights. in the same light regardless of what you THINK marquez was thinking and why the rematch wasntmade, he is still one of boxings best fighters and put on a hell of a show.
