People are allowing resentment to cloud their judgment. Floyd is definitely an ATG, one of the most skilled and dedicated fighters of this era. That said, he is also disrespecting both the sport and the fans. But it is partially because of things like this that he began to do so in the first place.

I don't consider him a fraud at all. I also do not consider him an all time great overall for his career. I do consider him one of the best fighters of his generation easily, if not the best.

If you look at him as a lightweight, I think you can put him on a very short list for best fighters to ever lace up the gloves at that weight class.

In the end it will be his weight class jumping that will actually hinder his all time status more than help it, as he became picky over his opponents when he moved up. At Lightweight though, he was truly a monster....top 5 all time in my book.

This jumping out of weights and hand picking opponents drives me mad. Take the belts, take on a few challengers, clean the division. THEN move on.

This pick and choose crap is the same as RJJ taking on Ruiz, playing hit-and-run and winning a belt then never fighting heavyweight again. He was almost immediately exposed back in his old division.

Bernard Hopkins will ONLY take on Maskaev at heavyweight. You know what, if you're only taking on one man at the weight. DON'T BOTHER!!!!!!!

I'm unimpressed by moving up divisions unless you conquer them indisputably. The article has it right. Floyd has wasted the last 4 years and even though DLH actually will be a challenge it will still be meaningless in any real sense.

****, Pacquaio could hit-and-run against bigger men, do no damage but avoid being hit by a slower, bigger man for twelve rounds. It's boring. It shows nothing of the actual skills of the fighters.

Stop jumping divisions, hand picking fighters and actually demonstrate your greatness or retire. At the moment I am more dissappointed with Floyd and what I could have seen him do than any other boxer in the sport.
He could have been one of the greatest and instead chose the safe, protected path. Good luck convincing anyone you have faced the best around.
Year and a half later, and still a solid post.
              Karma.
