Did Lewis batter Hasim Rahman or Oliver McCall? Did he?
Those two were journeymen compared to Frazier.

This idea that Lewis is the modern day greatest HW is just laughable when you consider the fact that he got by two over the hill HW

There’s not been many elite Cruiserweight’s though tbh. He’s definitely miles behind Holyfield and Usyk. He didn’t even have many world title fights at CW, only two I think.

really bad performance by Lewis this time, but as he always promised when he surprisely lost: Next time Frazier will be down. And I m bettin my ass he will be right one more time...

Oscar Bonavena almost knocked out Frazier then he had a UD against him in struggling fights .

If we used per fight comparisons there’s just no one that Joe fought of 5”10 and slightly over 200 that would give Lewis this much trouble .

The harsh reality is no way is Frazier going to defeat a 6”5 Olympian with power , the guys you mentioned were 6”3 and roughly 240 ,smoking Joe coming face forward against a guy with 84 inches of reach is going to win ? Come on now. Ali is far more a realistic match up for Lewis then Joe.

I do appreciate your response. It comes with background (historical) knowledge. Every time I counter someone on this site I get cursed out 😏 and the debate turns into a dïck measuring contest. So thank you.

That said, Frazier was nothing like Rahman or McCall. Almost all the HW’s in the 70’s were smaller compared to modern day HW’s but what they had that today’s guys don’t have was high level conditioning. They were relentless with their high volume punches. Lewis gassed out against Vitali and only won that fight on technicality. He was getting beat.

I do like Lewis let me say that. And I hate the boxing trifecta analogy because they just never work but to lose to a guy like Rahman in the fashion that he lost was a huge downer for me. Lewis should have never lost to Rahman. Ever.

For that reason, I give Frazier a good chance to trouble and even beat Lewis. Had Lewis fought Tyson when it mattered, I think Tyson too had a shot. Lewis would struggle against fast moving guys.

Also, have you seen the Lewis vs Mercer fight? That was a pretty much toe to toe fight... A style Frazier enjoyed

Anyone thinking a bar room brawler with 1 arm could come close to beating Lewis is deranged. It's a grotesque mismatch.
They prolly said something similar before the Rahman and McCall fights. Also, history regards Joe Frazier as quite a bit more than a one-armed bar room brawler. Undisputed World Champ, Olympic Gold Medalist...

You are assuredly the ONLY person to ever call Joe Frazier that.

Actually, that’s perfect fight to predict how Frazier beats Lewis.

As good a fight it was, Mercer was a blob - fat and much slower than the fast moving plodder, Frazier.
If I remember correctly, it was a split decision win for Lewis.
Frazier’s hooks were monstrous as were Lewis’ upper cuts! That fight would not last 12 rounds.
