is the peekaboo style taking over

it seems to me like the techinical peekaboo style is taking over. fighter like winky wright ,glenn johnson, ike quartey, ali late in his career, tyson early in his career, joshua clottey, and maywether was getting killed by judah till he started walking him down ,

Peekaboo's not new, of course. Ali didn't really use it, persay; but when he was in his "rope-a-dope" mode, even if he was in ring center, the guard he used was peek-a-boo....I suppose that was what you meant.

Anyway, I don't think "taking over" is the right way to put it as much as it's a phase. Tyson was really good with it and a lot of young fighters who saw him fight decided to adopt it as part of their style....just as a bunch of fighters in the 80's tried to emmulate Ali's dancing style....and some still do.

Chalk the peek-a-boo fad up to Tyson and DaMotto.

No I know what Peekaboo is, but most boxers who Peekaboo also run.

Winky wright uses the peekaboo style and don't run, he stays right in front of you and walk you down. the only shots you can hit on winky is bodyshots. Jermain Taylor is the only person that actually hit winky in his face.

Floyd Mayweather had to resort to using the peekaboo style because Judah caught him with that flush ass shot in the fourth round. He stood in front of Zab the whole fight.

im not really a winky fan but i do think hes the best fighter in the world right now, taylor is probably the best athlete right now in boxing and was much bigger then winky muscle wise and winky fought a very technical fight and came right at taylor i definately thought he won the fight. mayweather been using it more and more at one point in the judah fight he looked like floyd patterson the way he was moving around the ring

But they stand and brawl. And they're not the most defensive fighters either so they are hardly using the peekaboo style, if anything.
