how tough was Knox Brown... ?

    toughest mofo EVER

watch Hilton/Brown if you haven't seen it

NOT a great fight, just an astonishing example of human endurance

been a while... but my memories from that fight...

R1 - clear mismatch, will be a short fight
R2 - omg, Brown is getting slaughtered
R3 - omg, this is hard to watch
    R4 - ref, WTF?... stop it !
    R5 - I... can't watch anymore of this... I have seen enough
R6 - wtf, he is still there
R7 - immune at this point, totally oblivious to Browns pain
R8 - shock starting to wear off, actually starting to enjoy the fight
R9 - omg Brown is getting absolutely slaughtered... but, he loves it
R10 - Brown at the bell, sprinting over for another 3 min beating... WTF????

that could be a little exaggerated, time does funny things to your memory... but yea, that is pretty close to what happened

I feel like Benitez gets a little lost in the shuffle as he was in the same era as fellow ATG’s like SRL, Duran, Hearns, Hagler but for me he was on a similar level to those guys. Wins over Cervantes, Palomino and Duran, and in his prime was only beaten by great fighters like Leonard and Hearns.
Benitez was undeniably great. What happened is that he fell out of the mix early with the Fab Four. He lost a great fight to Leonard, then beat Duran six fights later. He lost to Hearns next, and never won another big fight. Significantly, he never fought Hagler. All the others fought each other — multiple times, in a couple of cases. That is why Wilfred isn’t included among them.

        Hahaha

Memory is completely unreliable, despite what most people believe, but your reminiscence was rather enjoyable to read. Green K.

          He was damned great.

They used to call him "The Bible of Boxing" because he had it all.

What Rexy was saying about him being the 5th king is absolutely true.

HE could've been just as good as Leonard, Hearns Duran, and Hagler.

I’ve never seen that fight, I’ve actually been looking for more obscure sh** like this as there’s no boxing to watch.

That Knox Brown was a tough dude though he fought Roy Jones when he was on the way up, Roy stopped him in a few rounds but he was landing at will at Brown never went down or took a knee. Had the ref not jumped in he probably would have just kept eating uppercuts and hooks.

He was very good and peaked at a young age. he fought way past his prime and took too much punishment and that probably caused him to die at a fairly young age.He is a member of the four greats, along with Hagler, Leonard and Duran.
